Last night we had almighty gusts and tons of rain. It is nothing abnormal for this part of the world, you just have to live with it. (How many times have I heard that dictum).
However, the day dawned at sometime past 8.30am, very overcast though ‘lighter’ than it has been at that time. Our days are drawing out, imperceptibly, but it is happening. You still need the lights on in the house till quite late into the morning and sometimes all day. I’m not sure how long the lights will remain off, my guess is, not long. Though there is an attempt at a bit of brightness at the moment, there is no way you could describe what we have as bright and light, far, far, from it.
Further along the East coast of Scotland, I hear the schools are closed due to roof leaks, (see Purple Dragon’s post). There are perennial problems with flat roofs in this part of the world, they are rarely built now. Our schools are open with old flat roofs, temporary buildings from the 1950’s and the rest of it.
