FINES OR KIDS

Oxfordshire County have made it clear that they intend to take every measure they can to live within their deeply cut budgets, soon to be cut even further, like every authority in the UK. The sharpness of cuts has not yet been felt. Oxfordshire’s current contribution to living within their budget is to dispose of the responsibility for the speed cameras in the county.

While authorities have had the responsibility to service and maintain the speed cameras in their zones, it seems that there has been little or no benefit from the fines raised. That money has been diverted to Central Government. Swindon, in Wiltshire has already abandoned the maintenance of speed cameras.

Oxfordshire has stated clearly that their choice is between speed cameras and supporting their children’s services and children’s safety. There was clearly no competition.

I can hardly believe the reduction in the Exchequer’s money grab, (a large one) through fines, was intended. Once the level of reduction in fines income is felt, and clearly it is starting to happen, what then?

  1. What an enormous difference between Oxfordshire County and Sarkozy’s Politic… He chooses alltimes the opposite solution…

You understand, Why we hate him so much…

  2. Funnily enough, Nenesse, Oxfordshire’s position is the obverse to expectations and is a challenge of a kind, to the new government. It says, ‘yes we will live with our budget and to do so, we will cut our spending on things that benefit you and not us’.

As for France hating Sarkozy; your previous president was voted in to stop a fascist from gaining sufficient votes, that president was unpopular and not wanted. I salute the French for stopping the rise of fascism at the ballot box. Sarkozy was voted in, whatever is said about the votes, they were there to be counted. The French, as a nation, can make changes at the next big vote. That is democracy.

  3. In France it is the opposite which takes place.

Sarkozy eliminates the taxes which went to local authorities (regions, departments, municipalities). He create and imputes them the grants to poor people (RSA)(ACTIVE SOLIDARITY REVENUE), promises to local authorities to give them the money which misses, but does not make it.

Result : local authorities get less money and cannot give any more the RSA to the poor men… And as these local authorities are mainly of left party, Sarkozy tries to make hate the left party by the poor men… Machiavelli was an angel…

    As for the votes:
If in 2002, Le Pen was number 2, it is because the opposition was divided many parties (it is thus the fault of the left opposition).

Sarkozy was elected by taking the thémes of Le Pen + the social themes of the left…

Results : Sarkozy leads a politics even more racist than the one that Le Pen would make. But for the social he makes totally the opposite of its promises…

He lied! He was elected on a lie!

That is why many French people, of whom I am a member, suggest to change the constitution, not to give any more all the powers to anybody whom we cannot punish in case of treason. More do not give a “blank check”…

I was a “Gaullist”. I haven’t voted for the left in the past… But I do it now, because it’s necessary to save France From Fascist, absolute dictatorship (In French “Autocratie”) and plutocracy…

Even the “Le-Pennists” people get back to vote for Le Pen…

We have the same risk of seeing again in 2012 the same scenario as in 2002…
Except when the opposition unites around a moderate, charismatic and social candidate… But for the moment, there is nobody…

“Please, de Gaulle, come back !”

  4. Our local authorities have money taken from them, and ours is a government of the right. You will see the same policies here as you are now seeing in France. It is happening all over Europe (EEC), no country is exempt. The French are not experiencing a change that is exclusive to France. We are all seeing big disruption to national social structures.

  5. It is not a progress, it is a regression…

We saw him(it) throughout the history of France. Every time the situation was well, it was when King was good with the people and rigorous with the nobility…

The politicians are always (as the servicemen), late of a war…

We begin to have French Bosses who, having relocated in China, return in France to re-install their factory ( already 50 companies)…
The bosses are more intelligent than the speculators… They consider many more parameters than the only short-term personal interest…
Because the perpetuity of the company is more important for real managers…

That’s only a begining, but there is a little hope…

  6. It is exactly the same in the UK. We hear the same talk as you get from your politicians. The same business practices are in action too. Next year will be very bad here. We already know this.

  7. It’s extraordinary that Politics and Politicians give us despair, while bosses of small companies restore the hope…

What proves that the globalization is perceived in a way idealized by these morons politicians

  8. Our small businesses bosses do not give us hope. They are not even a barometer of major change. At the present time, small business bosses are complaining they need more help with their profits. Where hope might lie, is in innovation.

I am very reserved about global politics, they exist and I believe they affect everything and everyone.
