Google….I wanna tell you that your blasted constant pinging notifications that your most useful ever tool is being discontinued, are doing what you intended and are really annoying me… though, not quite badly enough to make me take the action you are asking me to take. I will not, repeat… I will not uninstall the app that takes me directly to my mail page. I never much cared if I was notified whenever I had mail. From what I have seen in chat rooms, I am not sure if that is what everyone else wanted either. I do hope there are lots and lots of people like me who are ignoring your instructions to nuke the app.
I find Google infuriating and have now abandoned it – I hate the way everything is automatically connected to everything else whether I want it or not!
What are you using now?
I’ve gone back to Firefox and am using yahoo for emails.
I’m using Firefox with gmail. FF is very stable. It’s the gmail mail app that is now unsupported. I have never felt very confident about Yahoo and other similar web mail providers. Did you totally give up on Chrome?
Yes I did – at first I was very impressed with it as it was fast and efficient, but then I started having problems, and decided to return to Mozilla.
Mozilla are a good group thus far. May it stay that way. It’s what you attach to the platform that causes the complications. I did look at Chrome, albeit briefly, and returned to Firefox. Not all that sparkled, I thought, was entirely useful.
Hear hear! Well said!xxx
Thanks 🙂
